How does PRIMUS WAS affect my existing cellular long distance bill?

Using WAS correctly will result in LD calls being billed by PRIMUS at lower rates and only local minutes being used on your cellular plan. PRIMUS WAS is a two stage service which means you dial an access code before making a long distance call. PRIMUS WAS can be used in conjunction with any cellular provider, enabling you to maximize your savings.

Will the customer receive fast busy signals or can the network handle the volume of calls?

The PRIMUS network is engineered to process calls from nearly 1 million Canadian individuals and businesses. The incremental volume of calls for this new service will be managed by our network team. They will ensure all calls are processed without blockage.

How long does it take to activate my WAS?

Service is activated within 24 hours for an existing account.

Can I still use my address book to make LD calls?

You can program just the PRIMUS WAS local access number you will use (for your city) into your address book and then dial the LD # following the dialing instructions once you get dial tone. Or On most wireless phones you can program the PRIMUS WAS local access number a pause and then the number you wish to call. Each entry will include the local access number for the city you are making the call from, a pause (Check your cellular user guide for instructions) and then follow the dialing instructions to enter the number for the person you are calling.

Am I required to make any arrangements with my current cellular provider prior to subscribing to WAS?

No, WAS is an “add on” service that can be used in conjunction your current cellular provider, which allows you to maximize your savings. You will need to activate CLID or “send own number” on your cellular phone if it is not already active.

How am I billed?

Standard PCS bill cycles and the Cellular number will appear as a WTN in the summary and call detail. Sample invoices will be provided shortly.
